What types of vehicles are accepted by Agricamper?

Are all types of vehicles allowed in the Agricamper network?

No. Only fully self-contained leisure vehicles are accepted at Agricamper stopovers. Agricamper hosts are mainly farms and rural businesses that are not classified as campsites, farm campsites or motorhome service areas, so they are not equipped to host all kinds of vehicles or tents.

For this reason, you must travel with a motorhome, campervan or self-contained caravan equipped with an internal toilet, fresh and grey water tanks and an internal kitchen area. Portable toilets, whether chemical or composting, are also allowed as long as they are used inside the vehicle and emptied correctly at official dump stations.

Which vehicles are accepted?

  • Motorhomes: hosts may accept motorhomes of different sizes, depending on the access and space available on the farm, including larger vehicles (over 3.5 t and over 7.5 m). Please always check each stopover’s details in the app.
  • Panel van conversions and campervans: self-contained campervans with an internal toilet and wastewater system are accepted. Portable toilets are also allowed if they are used correctly inside the vehicle and emptied at official dump stations.
  • Self-contained caravans: caravans equipped with an autonomy package are allowed, provided they can stay without external connections (battery for energy, fresh and waste water tanks and a usable toilet on board).

Which vehicles are not accepted?

The following are not accepted within the Agricamper network, even if equipped with a portable toilet or other improvised sleeping solutions:

  • Bicycles and motorcycles
  • Cars or vans used as improvised campers
  • Cars with rooftop tents
  • Ground tents of any kind
  • Trucks or commercial vehicles used as improvised campers

It is also not allowed to pitch an extra ground tent next to a motorhome, campervan or caravan.

This rule helps protect the hosts, respect local regulations and ensure that stopovers remain calm, safe and adapted to self-contained motorhome and caravan travellers.

How should I manage grey and black water?

Agricamper hosts are not campsites and are not required to provide waste disposal facilities. This means that, in most cases, you will not be able to empty your tanks directly at the host.

Grey and black water must only be disposed of at official dump stations, in full compliance with local regulations and environmental rules. It is strictly forbidden to empty tanks in fields, ditches, drains, on farm land or in any unauthorised area.

To make this easier, the Agricamper Italia app includes a map showing both Agricamper hosts and hundreds of free dump stations across Italy. When you open the app, you can plan your route so you refill fresh water and empty your grey and black water at a dump station before or after your free stopover, at no extra cost.

What if my vehicle is not self-contained?

If you do not have a fully self-contained leisure vehicle, our team also runs Natura Camping, where you will find hundreds of farm campsites and glamping sites that can welcome you with a camping experience very similar to Agricamper.
