Agricamper is reserved for travellers with fully self-contained leisure vehicles. Agricamper hosts are farms and rural businesses, not traditional campsites, so they are not equipped to welcome every kind of camping setup.
Are all types of vehicles allowed in the Agricamper network?
No. Only self-contained leisure vehicles are accepted at Agricamper stopovers. Travellers must be able to manage their own toilet, water and waste independently, because hosts are not campsites and do not systematically provide these services, and when they do, they are not always available 24/7.
Which vehicles are accepted?
- Motorhomes and campervans: accepted when equipped for autonomous travel, with a toilet on board, water management and an indoor living setup.
- Large motorhomes (+3.5 t / 7.5 m): accepted by some hosts depending on access, turning space and available parking area.
- Self-contained caravans: accepted if they can stay autonomously without external connections, with battery, fresh water, waste water and a usable toilet on board.
- Vehicles with roof-top tent: accepted only if they have a toilet on board and it can be used inside or out of sight.
Which vehicles are not accepted?
- Bicycles and motorcycles
- Cars used for improvised camping
- Vans or commercial vehicles used as makeshift campers without proper self-contained equipment
- Ground tents of any kind
- Trucks used as improvised overnight vehicles
It is also not allowed to pitch an extra ground tent next to the vehicle during an Agricamper stopover.
Why does Agricamper require autonomous vehicles?
Agricamper requires autonomous vehicles because hosts do not have the full infrastructure of a campsite, and it is not acceptable for guests to use the surrounding fields or nature as toilets. For this reason, travellers must be fully self-contained and able to manage their own toilet, water and waste in a responsible way.
How should grey and black water be managed?
Agricamper hosts are not campsites and are not required to provide waste disposal facilities. This means that, in most cases, you will not be able to empty your tanks directly at the host.
Grey and black water must only be disposed of at official dump stations, in full compliance with local regulations and environmental rules. It is strictly forbidden to empty tanks in fields, ditches, drains, on farm land or in any unauthorised area.
To make this easier, the Agricamper Italia app includes a map showing both Agricamper hosts and hundreds of free dump stations across Italy. When you open the app, you can plan your route so you refill fresh water and empty your grey and black water at a dump station before or after your free stopover, at no extra cost.
Why is it important to select your vehicle type in the app?
When you install the app, you are asked to update your profile and select your vehicle type. This is important because the map will then display only the hosts that accept your type of vehicle.
If you change vehicle, update your profile before searching on the map or sending a booking request. This helps avoid unsuitable stopovers, saves time and improves the experience for both guests and hosts.
What if my vehicle is not accepted?
If your vehicle is not fully self-contained or is not suitable for Agricamper stopovers, you can discover Natura Camping, which offers nature-focused farm campsites and glamping locations, very similar in spirit to Agricamper but with traditional camping facilities.
